Dear Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School Family,
I wanted to provide an update on the Head of School search process. I am honored and humbled to serve as the Board President during this monumental and exciting time for Beth Tfiloh’s future. We know that Dr. Schorr’s accomplishments and contributions have established a strong foundation for BT, one that will be surely take BT from strength to strength in the coming years.
The next couple of months will focus on Search Planning as the hiring and supporting of the Head of School is one of the most crucial roles of the Board. This planning includes forming a Search Committee to represent the diversity of voices in our BT community. In the spring, the Search Committee led by our search consultants, DRG Talent, who have extensive experience working with Jewish day schools and non-Jewish schools throughout the U.S., will reach out to our entire BT community to listen to what kind of leader BT needs to guide us in this next chapter in BT history. We are eager to hear from the variety of voices from our diverse BT community.
After receiving input from the various stakeholders, a job description otherwise known as an Opportunity Statement will be drafted for the Head of School position and posted towards the end of Spring. DRG then will help identify the right candidates. Interviews with the Search Committee will occur during the Summer and Fall. The entire community will have the opportunity to meet finalists and offer feedback. The Search Committee then will make a recommendation to the Board and the Board will vote on the candidate. Please remember these are broad time frames that might require adjustment as the process proceeds.
In the meantime, if you have questions, or want to talk more about the process, please email me at dodisamuel@gmail.com. We are grateful for and appreciate the continued support and trust from our BT community throughout this process.
Respectfully,
Dodi Samuel '98, President, Board of Trustees |
